Usually, the green turf is the teams' home – but this time ASK Bad Fischau-Brunn and Pfaffstätten SC had to prove their luck at the green playing tables. The coaches of both clubs took to the "field" on behalf of their teams. At the Captains' Meeting, they quickly realised that they already knew each other!
The long-time acquaintances started their duel at the roulette table in the best of moods. While Pfaffstätten was the clear winner in this instance, the action at the black jack table quickly turned into a neck-and-neck race. With their scores tied, the captains headed into the final round at the poker table.
Bad Fischau was confident of victory at first, but in the course of the game the battle for the chips became increasingly tight. With the players giving it their all while maintaining a cool poker face, Pfaffstätten SC emerged with a big smile on their faces.
For any teams who may still want to compete in the Casino Cup: there are still free dates for the Burgenland at Casino Baden. Clubs can still register at any time. This was the last preliminary round played for Lower Austria.
And let's not forget this fun added feature: just like in a football match, the fans will also play an important role in the Casino Cup. In the weeks leading up to the national final, fans of the participating teams can check in at the casino and pick up a “Supporter Bonus” ticket (without any obligation to spend money at the casino). The collected tickets will be credited to the teams as additional tournament points.
Whoever then prevails at the Austrian final in autumn can look forward to a spectacular main prize: the winning team gets to take part in a one-week training camp in the sunny south. The Austrian final of the Casino Cup will be shown as part of an entertaining primetime TV show by PULS 4 in autumn of 2022.
