With their selection, the European Casino Association (ECA) appointed a proven gaming expert as its new chairman last Tuesday. The decision was made unanimously and announced at the annual general meeting during the ICE gaming fair in London. Van Lambaart succeeds Per Jaldung from Sweden, who had successfully served at the helm of the ECA for eight years.
After working for companies in the tourism and event industry for many years, Erwin van Lambaart took over as CEO of Holland Casinos NV in 2016. Within the space of just a few years, he established the Dutch state-owned company as a modern, innovative casino operator with a high entertainment factor and a sound economic foundation. In 2022, he moved to Austria, where he has served as General Director for Casinos Austria and Chairman of the Board for Austrian Lotteries since April.
Van Lambaart takes on his new role with pleasure and confidence, but also a great sense of responsibility, which he deems all the more important since the gambling industry has to adapt to changes and upheavals. He thanked his predecessor Per Jaldung, whose support and expertise he would like to be able to draw on in future.
