Casino Kitzbühel celebrates 90 years

The casino in the heart of Kitzbühel has been an integral part of the town for a remarkable 90 years. On 19 July, the newly renovated premises were presented to guests and the anniversary was celebrated in style.

Casino Kitzbühel has characterised the region since 1934 and has always been located in the listed Hotel Greif, right in the heart of the sports town. Opened as Austria's third casino, the casino has been offering its guests exciting entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere ever since and is the centre of the town's social life. Last Friday, 19 July 2024, there was a big celebration and the casino looked anything but old after a successful rejuvenation.

General Director Erwin van Lambaart: ‘The location in Kitzbühel is of great importance to us. With this casino, together with our establishments in Innsbruck and Seefeld, we are opening up the region geographically and have a venue in an exceptional location with excellent accessibility. Many thanks to all our partners in the region and to the entire team at Casino Kitzbühel for this outstanding cooperation, which has ensured economic development over such a long period of time. This allows us to make a significant contribution to regional value creation in the region."

A day full of entertainment and surprises for guests and partners

The entire team, with Managing Director Thomas Lichtblau, Casino Director Reinhard Deiring and Head of Operations Manager Gert Krones at the helm, can look back with pride on a successful celebration.

With the XXL roulette carpet, the casino was quickly moved outside from 2.00 pm and a 360-degree booth camera was set up directly in front of the casino. This allowed the special moments to be impressively captured. From 7.00 p.m., the guests in the casino were able to enjoy the raffle of 45 x 90 euros and numerous 90 euro mystery prizes on the slot machines to mark the anniversary. A champagne reception and live music provided further entertainment that evening. And as birthdays are not celebrated without a birthday cake, all guests were treated to the ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake at 9.00 pm.

Numerous guests of honour as well as personalities from politics, business and culture including Gerhard Eilenberger (First Deputy Mayor of Kitzbühel), Anton Bodner (CEO of Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel), Dr Viktoria Veider-Walser (Managing Director of Kitzbühel Tourismus), Simone Harisch (hotelier), Johannes Mitterer (Managing Director of Hotel Kitzhof Kitzbühel), Signe Reisch (hotelier) and DI Michael Manzenreiter (architect) accepted the invitation.

On the occasion of its 90th anniversary, Casino Kitzbühel presents itself in new splendour

Casino Kitzbühel offers gaming and entertainment at an internationally high level 364 days a year. Over the years, the casino's premises have been modernised time and again and the range of games has been expanded.

In recent months, the entire gaming area has been remodelled in chalet style, giving the premises an Alpine lifestyle character. The aim of the relaunch was to create a feel-good atmosphere that is both cosy and modern and emphasises the unique flair of excitement and style.

The Casino Kitzbühel team is looking forward to another 90 years at this extraordinary location.
