The long-standing cooperation between Casinos Austria and Austrian Cancer Aid includes numerous joint campaigns. A special highlight this year will once again be the Pink Casino Night, which is set to take place in all twelve casinos on Monday, October 21. On this special evening, Casinos Austria will donate 2 euros for every guest to the Pink Ribbon campaign, which has been raising awareness of breast cancer prevention for years. All casino employees will be wearing pink ribbons, and Pink Ribbon brochures will be distributed to all guests.
Guests not only have an opportunity to enjoy an exciting and entertaining evening with classic games and new attractions in a unique setting, but to make a valuable contribution at the same time. It’s a wonderful occasion to visit the casino!
Erwin van Lambaart, Director General of Casinos Austria, emphasised: “Cancer screening is an essential and valuable service that should be utilised by as many women as possible. It’s a great achievement of the Pink Ribbon campaign to raise awareness of this issue and an honourable task for Casinos Austria to support the campaign. We show solidarity with breast cancer patients and meet our socio-political responsibility.”
Humanitarian commitment has been an integral part of Casinos Austria’s business activities ever since the company was founded. Our support for Austrian Cancer Aid goes far beyond the co-operation with Pink Ribbon. At the end of November, the twelve casinos will once again host the Blue Casino Night to raise awareness of early prostate cancer detection as part of the Loose Tie campaign.The “Glückliche Augenblicke” (“Happy Moments”) initiative created in 2023 provides cancer patients with contingents of free tickets for major cultural institutions, including the Burgtheater, Ronacher and Bregenz Festival.
Cooperation is also taking place at a local level: As part of the nationwide “Unser Einsatz für Österreich” (“Our Commitment to Austria”) initiative, individual casinos support the cancer charities in their respective federal states through sponsorships, Casino on Tour and corporate volunteering by employees, which sustainably supports and enables the organisations’ projects and offers of help.
