The 2024 European Poker Championship offers a hot start to the summer

From July 16 to 28, a total of seven European Championship titles will be at stake once again at the poker highlight of the year

Casino Velden will once again be a lifestyle setting and “place to be” for the international poker scene in 2024. As part of the 33rd Casinos Austria Poker European Championship, the casino on the turquoise waters of Lake Wörthersee will be the venue for an absolute highlight on the international poker tournament calendar this summer.

Over 2,000 poker guests from more than 20 nations are expected to attend the European Poker Championship, where they will compete in various poker variants such as the well-known Texas Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha as well as older poker games, such as Seven Card Stud and modern variants including No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed or No Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty. Once again, the highlight this year is the Showdown on Lake Wörthersee, the tournament with the most participants. Last year there were over 800 entries, a new record number of participants.

The programme also features the NLH Ladies European Championship, one of the biggest and most prestigious ladies’ poker events in Europe, with three-time European and world champion Jessica Teusl and the NLN Main Event with a buy-in of €2,750, in which last year’s European champion from Italy, Nicola Angelini, will try to defend his title. With the unique ambience by the lake, the “Wörthersee Party Event” with a buy-in of €330 on the second weekend will provide a worthy conclusion to the European Championship for the poker guests.

Although the European Poker Championship has only been played at Casino Velden since 2015, numerous poker players have been coming to Lake Wörthersee over the summer for the past three decades. The unique location, the Mediterranean flair, the regional hospitality, excellent food and the turquoise blue waters of Lake Wörthersee make the European Poker Championship a unique experience for every poker fan. The event is also an enormous boon for the region’s hotel and gastronomy industry, as there is always enough time to enjoy the exceptional flair of the region away from the poker tables.

During the event, Casino Velden will be offering participants gastronomic treats such as Carinthia’s “Brettljause”, a suckling pig roast and the culinary delights cooked up by Marcel J. Vanic’s excellent 3-toque kitchen. The Casino Velden team, headed by Marion Roseneder and poker manager Jasmin Michael, is already looking forward to the 33rd edition of the European Poker Championship.
